PROVERBS 22 – CAST OUT THE SCORNER AND CONTENTION SHALL GO OUT

Proverbs 22:10

The Borrower is Servant to the Lender
The rich ruleth over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender. – Proverbs 22:7

Cast Out the Scorner
Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; Yea, strife and reproach shall cease. – Proverbs 22:10

Scorn – to mock, jeer; to reject, refuse, or ignore with contempt or disdain; open and unqualified contempt

The Slothful Man
The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets. – Proverbs 22:13

The lazy one [manufactures excuses and] says, “There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets [if I go out to work]!” – Proverbs 22:13 AMP

Sloth – disinclination to action or labor; spiritual apathy and inactivity; idleness, laziness, shiftlessness

He Shall Stand Before Kings
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; He shall not stand before mean men. – Proverbs 22:29

PROVERBS 23 – APPLY THINE HEART UNTO INSTRUCTION, THINE EARS TO KNOWLEDGE

Proverbs 23:12

Labour Not to Be Rich
Labour not to be rich: Cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away as an eagle toward heaven. – Proverbs 23:4-5

Apply Thine Heart and Thine Ears
Apply thine heart unto instruction, And thine ears to the words of knowledge. – Proverbs 23:12

Apply – to put to use especially for some practical purpose; to bring into action; to lay or spread on; to employ diligently and with close attention

Guide Thine Heart in the Way
Hear thou, my son, and be wise, And guide thine heart in the way. Be not among winebibbers; Among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: And drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags. – Proverbs 23:19-21

PROVERBS 24 – FEAR THOU THE LORD AND THE KING

Proverbs 24:21

Builded, Established, Filled
Through wisdom is an house builded; And by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled With all precious and pleasant riches. – Proverbs 24:3-4

A Man of Knowledge Increaseth Strength
A wise man is strong; Yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: And in multitude of counsellors there is safety. – Proverbs 24:5-6

If Thou Faint
If thou faint in the day of adversity, Thy strength is small. – Proverbs 24:10

Fear Thou the LORD and the King
My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: And meddle not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise suddenly; And who knoweth the ruin of them both? – Proverbs 24:21-22

My son, fear the Lord and the king; And do not associate with those who are given to change [of allegiance, and are revolutionary], For their tragedy will rise suddenly, And who knows the punishment that both [the Lord and the king] will bring on the rebellious?
